The Great Misunderstanding

LBB - Landbouwbelang Maastricht, NL, 26 April 2024

The installation is guarded by a woman in an orange vest. Members of the audience are selected at random - some are permitted to enter upon arrival, others are made to wait for reasons that are not disclosed. We enter through a blue door and find ourselves in a metal enclave - a nest made from scraps of urban human life.

Upon entering, we hear the soundscape. As though we are inside Helena´s brain we hear snippets of her research.

”Who has access to which shared space? Shared space - circumstantial access to shared space.
Dirty pigeon, hunted pigeon, peace pigeon, peace, peace, peace pigeon, dirty pigeon, pest”

Helena´s voice is frequently interrupted by pigeons cooing and their feet scurrying on the ground.
